It also provides an LED readout to display the temperature of your hard drive in celsius or fahrenheit.  Most importantly, with its adjustable crossflow blower, the Vantec Vortex can lower the temperature of your hard drive by up to 40%. Compatible with any 3.5" hard drive, including Serial ATA, IDE, and SCSI, the Vantec Vortex increases system stability and protects your data.

Crossflow Blower:
Traditional hard drive coolers utilize standard fans, which can result in dead spots - areas of the hard drive that the fan cannot reach.  The Vantec Vortex's specially designed crossflow blower eliminates those dead spots, encasing your hard drive in a continuous stream of cool air.  With the crossflow blower, the Vantec Vortex cools your hard drive more efficiently and more effectively than traditional hard drive coolers.
